OTTAWA, June 5 (Reuters) - Canada is on track for its worst-ever year of wildfire destruction as warm and dry conditions are forecast to persist through to the end of the summer after an unprecedented start to the fire season, officials said on Monday. "The rate of increase of area burned is also high ... if this rate continues, we could hit record levels for area burned this year," he said. "Over the last 20 years, we have never seen such a large area burned so early in the season," said Yan Boulanger, a researcher with Natural Resources Canada. OTTAWA, Jan 20 (Reuters) - The western Canadian province of British Columbia (B.C.) on Friday announced a deal with four Indigenous First Nations to collaborate on land planning and managing the impacts of industrialization. Supreme Court ruled decades of natural resource extraction and industrial development had infringed on indigenous rights. It also contains a new revenue-sharing approach to support First Nations communities, similar to the ones agreed with Blueberry River. However, other aspects of the Blueberry River agreement, such as an annual cap on land that can be disturbed for oil and gas development, were not included.

Companies Enbridge Inc FollowNov 4 (Reuters) - Canadian energy infrastructure firm Enbridge Inc (ENB.TO) on Friday announced a C$3.6 billion ($2.65 billion) expansion of the southern segment of its British Columbia (B.C.) Gas production in Western Canada this year neared record levels of 18 billion cubic feet a day. Enbridge said the expansion of the southern part of its system, known as T-South, will add 300 million cubic feet per day (cfpd) of capacity. It will serve customers in the Pacific Northwest and southern B.C., as well as the Woodfibre LNG project that Enbridge bought a C$1.5 billion stake in earlier this year. Enbridge shares were trading 1.6% higher at C$54.51 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday after the company reported a higher third-quarter adjusted profit.
